F.A.Q.

Most Frequently Asked Questions:

So, this is the stuff that people ask the most, so you don't have to ask.

Do you do returns?

I personally do not do returns specifically. I am just a textile artist working with print-on-demand companies and sometimes those companies can make the occasional faux pas but with my experience with them they're normally pretty good. You may think it's a gamble buying something online, and I get it, I have worked with these companies and things don't always pan out the way you expect them to. I have worked with many of the companies for a while, long before I started selling stuff with them and most of them have been very good at doing refunds or returns if something happens on their end. I will have links to those sites I work with below so you may speak to them directly if need be. The people in customer service at those places are there to help so I hope you have a good experience with them. If it is something on my end like a defect in my print, I am sorry, depending on the circumstance I may try to fix it. Though, I usually purchase my patterns myself before I sell them, so I can see if there are any problems with my work. Thank you for bringing things to my attention though if there is a problem on my end.

When should I order?

Most of the companies I work with print (and sometimes sew) a garment after you order it. It may take some time because it is made specifically for you and there are normally other orders ahead of yours, but if you have an event in the future you want to wear something for, I suggest ordering it in advance, or if speedier shipping is available you may want to go that route too. Normally Artscow and Cowcow are very good at getting things to me from Hong Kong in three weeks time. I live in Canada for reference. They print, cut and sew the garment before shipping it out to you, so to me it's impressive how fast they work. Of course things can happen along the way. Post Offices may be backed up, things do not fit properly, etc. For the bridesmaids at my wedding I asked them to order things 3-4 months in advance in case I needed to get a new dress for someone. Sure enough one of the dresses was too short on one of them so we had to size up. It is hard to predict some of these things but if you prepare for things in advance normally things can be attended to. If you do things too last minute it is hard to fix. My advice to you is to order at least a month (but I would say much more if you can) in advance if there is an important event or holiday you wish to wear something to.

How will I know if something will fit?

Unfortunately, it's hard to predict this. It is a gamble every time I order something new online. Personally I feel like sizing up sometimes helps. For me as a rule, I prefer to size up and then I can adjust it later with a sewing machine or ask a tailor to help with the fit, but you never fully know unless you try it out. I can send you to the size charts for the companies but even I sometimes get surprises here and there with the fit of some of the garments.

(Seeing as Spoonflower is mainly for making fabric, you need to see how much fabric you need for your project before you order from them, I don't really have a size chart link for this company, that's up to your discretion.)

*Both Cowcow and Artscow have size charts on their site but you can find them when looking at a garment in their description. Just click on the size chart link usually highlighted in blue and the pop-up screen with their size charts for different apparel should come up.

More Questions:

Please feel free to contact me if you have any more questions. I will try to work with clients individually if they, perhaps, wish to change a colour background of a design I previously made; Or maybe there is a design you like, but perhaps you feel it is too busy (ie: sometimes I add, for example, striped sleeves to a flower pattern) and you just wish it looked simpler so you need some adjustments in the design there; Or maybe a design is not on a particular product that you wish to purchase in my stores. Sometimes it is hard to keep up with all the new products the online stores are producing as I am only one person.

If it is a question directly related to the stores I'm working with, however, they may do a better job answering things. Here I have linked their "contact us" page and/or their F.A.Q. page just so your needs can hopefully be met.
